Wingshooter Kennels “Started Gun Dogs” are outstanding young bird dogs that have spent enormous time in training and orientation to hone their hunting skills and develop a confident maturity. They are trustworthy of their handler and can go quickly into the field. They easily adapt and bond to a new family.
Jake is turning into a dynamic bird finder with outstanding game drive and beautiful pointing style. He has been in our started gun dog program from 8 weeks of age and continues to learn and mature daily. He has an athletic graceful stride and hits the cover with drive and determination. He hits his objectives thoroughly and is staunch on point. He has great temperament, is quiet and reserved in the kennel and very mature for his age. He is an outstanding young bird dog and will provide a lucky hunting family with many years of field performance and family companionship.
We bred and trained his mother before selling her to a family in Dallas. I’ve trained and sold two of his sisters who are now hunting wild birds in multiple states. He comes from a long line of proven performers and field champions. He is the grandson of DC NGDC GFC AFC Hope’s Chief of Cross creek on the sire side and the great-grandson of NAFC GFC FC AFC Spanish Corrals Sundance Kid on the dam’s side. There at 18 FC, DC and CH in his 4-generation pedigree.
Our Started Gun Dogs are driven to seek and find game, point staunchly and have been exposed to various field scenarios and hunting situations. They are familiar with the gun, retrieve naturally, e-collar conditioned, whistle trained and socialized with other dogs and hunters. They are eager and ready to hunt!
If you are looking for a great hunting or competition gun dog and a sweet family companion this could be your guy!
Note: All Started Gun Dog sales require an on-site visit to Wingshooter Kennels prior to final purchase. This allows for one-on-one introduction of the dog to the prospective buyer, reviewing field performance, dog characteristics and compatibility with the future owner. We understand your dog is more than just a hunting companion and want to assure their performance and personality will be a good match for you and your family.
