Wingshooter Kennels “Started Gun Dogs” are outstanding young dogs that have spent enormous time in obedience training and field work to hone their hunting skills.  Resulting in an easy handling, confident, ready to hunt bird dog. They are trustworthy of their handler and readily adapt and bond with a new family. 

Ned is a flat-out bird finding machine. He’s a smaller liver and white, big running dog with outstanding game drive and beautiful pointing style. He’s got a big running, ground eating, fast pace, with medium to long range. He’s staunch on point, steady though the shot and marks his downed birds well with a swift natural retrieve. He’s super birdy and covers the field quickly in search of objectives and game. He has trained with multiple dogs and other handlers and gets along with everybody. 

Ned passed his 4 AKC Junior Hunter tests on consecutive days at 9 months of age handled by 12-year-old John O’Toole, scoring perfect 10’s on his first run. 

He has a great temperament and is quiet and reserved in the kennel. He is an outstanding young bird dog and will provide a lucky hunting family with many years of field and family companionship.

Our Started Gun Dogs come to us at 7 or 8 weeks of age and are in the field 5 to 6 days a week. They develop an intense desire to seek and find game, point staunchly and have been exposed to various field scenarios and hunting situations. They are familiar with the gun, retrieve naturally, e-collar conditioned, whistle trained and socialized with other dogs and hunters. They are current on all vaccinations, heartworm and microchipped. They are eager and ready to hunt!

This allows for one-on-one introduction of the dog to the prospective buyer, reviewing field performance, dog characteristics and compatibility with the future owner.
