Wingshooter Kennels “Started Gun Dogs” are outstanding young bird dogs that have spent enormous time in training and orientation to hone their hunting skills and develop a confident maturity. They are trustworthy of their handler and can go quickly into the field. They easily adapt and bond to a new family.
Gabe is a dynamic bird finder with outstanding game drive and beautiful pointing style. He has a great temperament and is quiet and reserved in the kennel. He has an athletic graceful stride, with moderate to medium range and hits the cover with drive and determination. He’s easy to cast and has great check-in with a steady 10 to 2 forward hunting pattern. He’s staunch on point and marks his downed birds well with a swift natural retrieve. He has trained with multiple dogs and handlers and gets along with everybody. He is going to be an outstanding young bird dog and provide a lucky hunting family with many years of field and family companionship.
Gabe achieved his AKC Junior Hunter Title with four consecutive passes on April 29 and 30th, handled by 12-year-old Anna Shugart our newest Junior Handler.
He comes from a long line of proven performers and field champions. He’s the great grandson of NFC FC AFC Shambo’s Dark Shadow with many other notable NFC, DC, FC, and AFC dogs in his pedigree including NFC DC AFC Tequila’s Joker, NFC FC AFC Hi Proof Rum Runner, FC AFC Chubasco II, see his Dam and Sire pedigree in pictures.
Our Started Gun Dogs are driven to seek and find game, exposed to hundreds of hard flying quail, point staunchly and have been exposed to various field scenarios and hunting situations. They are familiar with the gun, retrieve naturally, e-collar conditioned, whistle trained and socialized with other dogs and hunters. They are eager and ready to hunt!
If you are looking for a great hunting gun dog and a sweet family companion this could be your guy!
Note: All Started Gun Dog sales require an on-site visit to Wingshooter Kennels prior to final purchase. This allows for one-on-one introduction of the dog to the prospective buyer, reviewing field performance, dog characteristics and compatibility with the future owner. We understand your dog is more than just a hunting companion and want to assure their performance and personality will be a good match for you and your family.
